Smurfs The Lost Village (2017) Good or Bad?

After the Huge Failure with the live action movies Sony decide to make a animated Smurf film that is far more close to the source material and for the most part they actually did a good job with it ,but is this the masterpiece that everybody was waiting for years?

Now before i begin here some few things you need to know :

1. This is a spoiler free review ,i won't tell you major things of this movie since a lot of you want to see it without knowing what do expect (even though the trailer spoil a lot of things of the movie but never the less there are some major things that you shouldn't know about before watch the movie)

2. I grow up with the Smurfs , i like the Cartoon Series and i love the Comics (i own some of them) so i was very excited to see the animated movie (even Sony fuck up with Ghostbusters 2016)

Well with that out of the way let start off first with.

Good :

1) Animation : To the amazing detail of the character designs ,movements and backgrounds is incredible and breath taking ,they have done a amazing job with the visuals especially with the Forest.

2) Voice Acting : Most of them did a amazing job voicing the characters they give them life ,capture the personalities of the characters and sound like the originals voice actors from the old cartoon ,especially Mandy Patinkin doing the voice of Papa Smurf sound almost exactly like Jonathan Winters (R.I.P).

3) Plot : The hull journey of Smurfette and the 4 others tried to find the lost village have a lot of mystery and goosebumps to what is going to happen and what are they going to see.

4) The Reveal : I won't tell you what happen ,but one is for sure to tell you that it was incredible and mind blowing.


and that all the good ,now let have look....


Bad :

1) Humor : There are some funny moments and some funny jokes but there are sometimes when the humor can be really miss and sometimes painful.

2) Gargamel : Although the voice actor did great job with he voice ,it was a very pathetic ,lame and annoying villain (it was worse in the cartoon) like he always was and i really wish they could have done much better with him ,making more treating ,dangerous ,intelligent and actually scary for once.

3) Lack with Number of Characters : I wish it wasn't just 4 and less smurfs going on adventures and the rest of them are just cameos and background visuals ,i know that a lot of work but come up a few more of them wouldn't hurt to put in the movie.

So overall this movie was a surprise good movie (not a masterpiece but good enough) and i do believe that all of you will enjoy this movie
